Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties (LVFSC) works with local organizations to enrich their  existing programming with literacy activities and ensure all programming is accessible to adult literacy learners.

LVFSC staff and tutors have facilitated thousands of hours of in-person and online learning with adult literacy learners. In a Community Collaboration we share our experience by working closely with local service providers to identify ways that LVFSC can best support providers and the literacy learning adults they serve. Support from LVFSC can come in a variety of ways, past collaboration support has included:

  • Troubleshooting intake, registration, and survey forms
  • Creating literacy activity stations for waiting rooms
  • Sharing hybrid learning strategies with other educators
  • Planning, facilitating, and providing materials for book discussions and writing workshops
  • Providing trained tutors to directly support adult literacy learners during education/training
